great book. I highly recommend this book it contains information for all types of art, how too, materials needed, history, almost everyhting you could imagine from a-z. I lost my original copy but felt this to be such a valuable resource that I had to replace it and buy another copy. Great resource for all artistic endeavors.
And best of all, it is at your fingertips, all in the one text. It provides information on every aspect of Art practice and theory - a solid basis for a great art program. Essential text for every art teacher regardless of your country's location. Even though a considerable part is focussed on American art, artists etc, it is an absolutely fantastic resource when planning lessons.
You are better off asking a veteran teacher what you really need and they should be able to point you in the right direction more quickly than trying to get through this book. This book is a little dated and not as helpful as I hoped it would be.
I need the visual part too. As an art techer there is no way I can put many of these ideas into practice.
Every art teacher should have this book. It has everything from list of famous artists, to projects, processes, art movements, and many handy things you would NEVER think of. This book is great. It was bigger than I thought it would be.
